Red Bank United Methodist plans Christmas to remember with multiple events

Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Red Bank United Methodist Church is well known for its events that reach out to the community at various times of the year. They have a HUGE Fall Festival near Halloween every year that turns out thousands of people who visit the church during that activity. This year, they are once again planning a Christmas that will feature a number of different programs intended to show the community how welcoming their church is to all people.

The first event is this coming weekend. The Hanging of the Greens will take place on Sunday, Dec. 2nd. The United Methodist Men invite everyone to come out for this delightful service to begin the holiday season! They will have a wonderful meal starting at 6 p.m. and then move to the service at 7 p.m. Learn why they “Hang the Greens” and more by attending this event!

Their annual Christmas at Red Bank extravaganza will be held on Sunday, December 9th, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The yearly musical event hosted by Red Bank UMC called simply "Christmas At Red Bank" has become a holiday kickoff tradition for many in the community; it brings in a lineup of a dozen or more local and regional musicians to perform traditional and not-so-traditional songs of the season.

This year's artists for the event's 13th edition include many returning regulars and a few new faces, as always. Artists scheduled to appear include Brent Lundy, Sofia Lynch, Kenley Young, Trent Jeffcoat, Tom Coolidge, Band of Pilgrims, James Etheridge, Jr., Todd Mathis, Kenny George Band, Prettier Than Matt, The Restoration, Brian Conner, Jeremy Scott, and our own homebased ladies, Common Thread. There is no admission charge, but an offering is collected that is given to Mission Lexington.

On Christmas Eve, December 24th, they will have a family friendly service with interactive children’s time to enjoy this special day beginning at 2:00 p.m. That will be followed by a Candlelight Holy Communion Service at 5:00 p.m.

Red Bank United Methodist Church is located at 2909 Old Barnwell Rd, right at the corner of South Lake and Old Barnwell Rd. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the holidays with them.
