Sheriff’s deputies investigating shooting that started on interstate and ended up in Cayce
Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County sheriff deputies are investigating a shooting incident that left a car bullet-riddled and one person injured. After the shooting, the car that was shot up exited the interstate and ended up in the parking lot of Bi-Lo and Murray’s on Charleston Highway. From that point, one person was transported for treatment to a local medical facility by Lexington EMS.
According to the sheriff’s office, the car was travelling on I-26 near the 113 mile-marker or the Cayce exit when someone on a motorcycle supposedly fired shots into the car. A witness who saw the car as Cayce DPS officers arrived at the Bi-Lo where the car pulled in after exiting I-26, said that there were several holes that appeared to have been caused by bullets in the car. Cayce officers immediately cordoned off the area and asked that people avoid it until they could sort out the mess.
