Swansea PD identifies truck thief, asks for public’s help to locate him

Swansea, SC (Paul Kirby) – Chief Cliff Hayes of the Swansea Police Department is turning to the public for help in locating a man they have identified as the person who recently stole a truck from a store and gas station in the town. They have identified that person as 33-year-old William Edward Coughlin who is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He weighs 125 lbs. and is just 5’2” tall.

Several weeks ago, Coughlin walked up to the store and stole a pickup while its owner was in the store. Swansea PD released his photo to the public from the store’s camera system, and according to Chief Hayes, they received a number of tips from the public. That led them to identify Coughlin as their suspect.

If you know where Coughlin can be found, please contact the Swansea Police Department at (803) 586-3366 or at their dispatch at (803) 785-2521. You can remain anonymous.
