Autopsy shows cause of death of Gaston man who perished in fire

Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the autopsy results of Tommy Ray Watts, 52, a Gaston man who died in a house fire over the weekend on Sonny Boy Poole Road. The fire occurred at Midnight on Saturday night. According to Coroner Fisher, Watts, who was pronounced dead on scene following a fire inside his residence, died as a result of smoke inhalation.

The cause and origin of the fire is still being investigated by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
