Vets Christmas Charity Ride cancelled; however, donations still needed for Veterans
Columbia, SC - For the first time in 18 years, the Annual Vets’ Charity Ride for the Columbia VA Health Care System at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center, is cancelled.
Organizers have made the call for the cancellation in the best interest for the safety of all participants, especially the riders from across the nation, due to the impending weather system that is forecasted to bring icy temperatures and rain to our region.
However, donations are still needed for Veterans who need that extra boost for the holiday season.
Won’t you please help?
Without the ride this year, there may not be enough donations to go around to support our heroes and their families in need for the holiday season.
Donations are needed in the form of all types of items which will go toward sustaining Veterans with requirements as they continue to make the necessary improvements in their life. Such items would include personal hygiene items, new clothing, move-in kits, cleaning supplies and gift cards to name a few.
Our holiday food basket drive is also continuing for Veterans and the requirements for
those baskets continue to be non-perishable food items.
Donations are welcome and needed now.
The Dorn VA Medical Center will also accept your from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Sunday, Dec 9, at the main lobby entrance. Though the ride is cancelled, Carolina Honda will be open 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Sunday, Dec 9 to accept gifts. Gifts delivered to Carolina Honda will be delivered to Dorn VA Medical Center.
