A pie in the face for a good cause

Pelion, SC - Forts Pond Elementary School collected donations for Harvest Hope Food Bank and Mission Lexington leading up to the University of South Carolina-Clemson University football game, resulting in generous giving and a pie in the face.

Collecting donations from students and staff in the school’s lobby, Fort Ponds demonstrated its commitment to helping others in need. Fans of each team donated non-perishable food and canned goods in their designated box with the promise of an FPES staff member getting a pie in the face if their team lost.

Donations totaled 585 items, split between the two local nonprofits. Gamecock fans also claimed bragging rights, donating more during the contest than Clemson fans.
