Man stabbed in Red Bank during altercation with family member
Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) – A call for first responders in the Red Bank area Wednesday night that was first dispatched as a shooting was actually a stabbing according to a spokesman for the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. The call came in around 8:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Lake Drive close to the big pond near Buck Corley Road. Deputies, EMS crews, and firefighters rushed to the scene to sort out the details of the incident and assist the injured person.
According to the sheriff’s spokesman, deputies quickly detained one man after he stabbed another man at the home. It is not known why county telecommunicators were led to believe that this might have been a shooting. The man who was stabbed had what is being described as non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident. No further information regarding his condition has been released. The name of the man who was detained but later released hasn’t been provided as of Thursday morning.
