Truck driver missing in Cayce located and safe

Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Cayce Department of Public Safety said Friday morning that they had located 53 year-old truck driver George Johnson and he is safe. Johnson had been reported missing yesterday after he was last seen outside his truck near CMC Steel close to New State and Taylor Road. His family and Cayce officials were worried because he left without notice and also abandoned his dog, cell phone, and keys when he disappeared. They said in their release that there was no criminal activity involved in the disappearance.

The Cayce Department of Public Safety said in their release that they had received an overwhelming amount of attention via local media outlets and social media followers after listing Johnson as missing. They continued by saying, “We are grateful for and truly appreciate our media partners and citizens for their continued support in these types of incidents.”
