West Columbia woman charged in fatal hit & run

Lexington, S.C. (Paul Kirby) - Troopers from the South Carolina Highway Patrol have arrested a West Columbia woman who they believe was behind the wheel Saturday night when she struck and killed a young man walking along Nazareth Road with a pickup truck. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the descendant as Davontaye Washington, 21.

According to troopers Ashley Nicole Burkhard, 33, of West Columbia has been arrested. She is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. She has already been booked at the Lexington County Detention Center and should face a bond judge Monday.
