Former Airport High School assistant principal pleaded guilty, sentenced on final charges
Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) Former Airport High School assistant principal Dawn Diimmler has pleaded guilty to the last of the charges brought against her in February of 2018 by law enforcement. She had been charged by two agencies in two separate counties, the City of Columbia Police Department and the Cayce Department of Public Safety, after having an inappropriate sexual relation with a student in 2017 in each of those jurisdictions. The student was above the age of consent to have sex at the time of their encounter, but the fact that Diimler was an employee of the school and he was a student made the relationship illegal in SC.
After she pleaded guilty last month to the first set of charges, she was sentenced to 30 days in jail or a $200 fine by the presiding judge. After entering the same plea in Lexington County, she received an identical sentence.
