Lexington detectives seeking help identifying man who robbed Pitt Stop
Lexington, SC – The Town of Lexington's Police Department is asking the community for help identifying a black male suspect who was involved in an armed robbery of a gas station on Friday, January 11, 2019.
At approximately 7:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Pitt Stop, which is located at 5019 Augusta Road near interstate I-20, for an armed robbery that had just occurred.
On arrival officers spoke to a witness who stated that the suspect entered the store, presented a black and silver handgun and demanded money. The suspect came behind the counter and took an undetermined amount of money from the cash register before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
The suspect is a black male, age late 20’s to late 30’s, who is approximately six foot in height and weighing 230 pounds. He was dressed in black pants, black long sleeve shirt and was wearing black boots. He was also wearing a dark green ball cap and an orange or red safety vest on during the incident. The suspect is believed to be traveling in a silver in color sedan.
