South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) – A car accident on Main Street in South Congaree ended with an SUV on its roof, and one lane of the street blocked as police, firefighters, and EMS personnel worked to clear up the mess. This happened during the afternoon commute just west of Pine Street near the South Congaree House of Pizza.

According to South Congaree Police Chief Josh Shumpert, one vehicle was pulling out of a business’ driveway when it collided with another, causing the SUV to flip over. It came to rest on its roof and the emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene. Shumpert indicated that no one was critically injured in the accident and his department was handling the investigation. He did not say who was at fault or if any charges were pending.
