Old Lexington Baptist Church near Lake Murray in Hollow Creek area broken into, sheriff’s department

Leesville, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Old Lexington Baptist Church in the 800 block of Old Lexington Road was broken into last weekend and several items were stolen, according to Captain Adam Myrick with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. Myrick said that investigators found that once the burglars were inside the church, they also forced access into several interior areas that were locked as well. The church staff has reported two computers and some cash was stolen. Currently, investigators are still working on this case. It appears as if no one has been taken into custody at this point.

Captain Myrick has indicated it would be helpful if anyone that knew anything about this break in, share that information with the sheriff’s investigators. You can do that by calling CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-888-CRIME SC or through their website at midlandscrimestoppers.com. You can also make tips through the CRIMESTOPPERS P-3 app which is available for both the Android or the Apple operating systems from either app store.
