Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – As an area grows, so does its appetite apparently. Jersey Mike’s, a chain sub shop that has been in business since 1956, has opened a store in Red Bank next to Marco’s Pizza and the AT&T store on South Lake Drive. Another will soon be opening in Chapin.
The Chapin location will be in the Chapin Crossing development, a shopping plaza anchored by Publix at Chapin Road and Old Lexington Highway. Jersey Mike’s serves authentic Northeast-American style sub sandwiches on fresh baked bread. They roast their beef in the store, slice the meats and cheeses right in front of you, and offer a red wine and vinegar topper for just the right zing! You can also get hot subs and wraps if that’s more your style.
Chapin is also expecting a Marco’s Pizza to add another choice to the already crowded pizza choices in that community. It’s also supposed to open in Chapin Crossing as well. If Red Bank is any indication, Marcos and Jerseys Mike’s seem to feel comfortable being neighbors already.
According to Marco’s Pizza’s website, they do pizza the “Italian Way.” Of course, you can only do things the “Italian Way” by starting in the old country, Italy. They say that their founder, Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco, learned as a young boy the importance of doing things the right way. He obsessed over the details and took pride in everything he made. At nine years old, he moved with his family from Sulmona, Italy to America and he brought the Italian Way with him. Pat founded Marco’s Pizza in 1978 and has been providing people with authentic Italian quality and primo moments ever since.
No timeline has been given for the exact opening dates of the Chapin stores.
