Lexington resident appointed to position in Department of Education by President Trump

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington resident Dino Teppara has been appointed by President Donald J. Trump to serve as a special assistant to an assistant secretary of education at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, DC. He will be working on policies to benefit our students, their families, and teachers across the country. He has worked for more than five years at the S.C. Department of Education prior to his appointment. Teppara said in a recent e-mail, “I am truly honored to have this opportunity to serve our education system in this role.”

Additionally, Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie has appointed Teppara to the VA's Advisory Committee on Cemeteries and Memorials. This committee seeks to honor the service and sacrifice of our nation's veterans. Teppara will be traveling back and forth between Washington, DC, and South Carolina, and said he is looking forward to continuing to work and stay in touch with the people he knows so well in South Carolina.
