Oak Grove first-graders write across the country
Lexington, SC - First-graders at Oak Grove Elementary School traveled the country this year without leaving their classroom.
Students teamed up with other first-grade classes for a postcard exchange, receiving letters from all over the country. First-grade teacher Deborah Harmon says the exchange is a great way to learn about other states.
Students’ favorites include postcards from Texas and California, but they enjoyed learning about different schools in all 50 states.
A highlight of the project involved going to the “post office” in the OGES lobby to mail their postcards with the assistance of Principal Sherry Cariens and office staff.
