Victim of church burglary and beating shows tremendous grace after attack

Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) – The woman who was opening the day care at Red Bank United Methodist Church Monday, was attacked and beaten by the burglar with what was said to have been a walking boot for orthopedic support. She was taken to the hospital where she underwent testing, but by the grace of God, she has no long-lasting injuries.

Later Monday, she took to Facebook to thank everyone for their prayers after the incident. She also showed tremendous grace and an exemplary Christian example by asking for prayer for her assailant. In her message she said, “I know this sounds weird, but please pray for the boy who did this. How lost can he be? I feel lots of sorry and pity for him.” She went on to say that she was glad that none of her co-workers had to deal with the attack and was glad that she wasn’t injured more by the young man that apparently struck her in the face and head. She closed her post by saying, “God is good, and I am not afraid!”

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has said that they have taken the suspect into custody. They have advised they will release more information on that arrest later Tuesday.
