Blowfish add arms to their arsenal

Lexington, SC - As the 2019 season is 91 days away, the Lexington County Blowfish are excited to announce the addition of three new pitchers to the roster.

An Ace Returns- Brett Fulk, a redshirt-junior from Lenoir Rhyne will return to The Lex in 2019. Brett led the Blowfish in 2018 in several categories, including wins and strikeouts. The highlight performance came at Grayson Stadium against the Savannah Bananas. Brett held the Bananas to one run, on one hit, and took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. “Brett was certainly the ace of our staff, especially late last season,” said Blowfish GM Theo Bacot. “We’re proud of the way he competes every night on the mound and how he represents the Lexington County Blowfish in the community.” Bolstering The Rotation- Two other pitchers were added to the roster along with Brett Fulk. Zach Williams, from the College of Charleston, is another Cougar that joins the Blowfish in 2019. Zach is a left-handed pitcher from Marietta, Georgia. Currently, he has appeared in two games for CofC in 2019, allowing just four hits in six innings of work. The Lexington County Blowfish have also looked to another in-state school to bolster the pitching staff. Mason Groves, originally from Powell, Ohio, joins the Blowfish from Winthrop University. Mason is a right-handed redshirt sophomore for the Eagles. Working in relief in 2019, Mason has allowed just one earned run over 3.1 innings of work. He struck out two batters in his appearance against the South Carolina Gamecocks on February 19th.
