Students, families enjoy literacy night at B-L Primary School

Batesburg-Leesville, SC - B-L Primary School hosted its spring Literacy Night for students and their families on Thursday, March 7th. Attendees were able to enjoy a delicious, complimentary dinner of hot dogs and chips before a read aloud of the book “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” was performed by Samantha Kennedy, the Instructional Coordinator for B-L Primary School, and several members of the school’s literacy team.

Following the story, students and their families could rotate to numerous camping-themed literacy stations that were set up around the school. Participants could do things like make their own s’mores, play camping games, go on a scavenger hunt, make their own story cube, read with their families, and do research on forest animals using Chromebooks. Every student who attended also got to pick out his/her own book to add to their home reading collection.
