Man sought by Lexington police officer used identity theft to open phone accounts

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – A man is being sought by the Lexington Police Department after he used someone else’s driver’s license to open a cell phone account and then buy several phones with the new account and information. This happened on March 8th, 2019 at the Lexington Target on Sunset Boulevard.

The man strolled into the store and up to the electronics counter. He selected expensive mobile phones, presented a driver’s license to open the account, and then made his way out of the store while enjoying some music on an MP3 player he had in the pocket of his hoodie; makes you wonder where he got that? Of course, all this was caught on surveillance footage by the store’s state-of-the-art camera system.

Check out the footage closely. It’s easy to see the young man’s face, clothes, and footwear. If you recognize the bearded bad guy, please notify Detective Voravuhdi (803) 358-1514. Officers with Lexington PD would greatly appreciate your assistance.
