Chapin community gathers for the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast and the Annual Community Service Day

Chapin, SC - This year marks the 19th anniversary of the Chapin Community Service Day. This annual tradition has become a favorite among our citizens.

Every year we look forward to working together to promote volunteerism and community service in our town. We encourage people of all ages and abilities to work together to support a project that is beneficial to others. Whether it’s planting flowers and trees, having a litter clean up along our roadways, sprucing up your church or school campus, reading to young people, or spending time with seniors in our community, we all have a vital role in building community by being present and engaged.

We will officially kick off this year’s Community Service Day weekend with the Community Prayer Breakfast on Friday morning, April 5, at 8:00 am in the Community Room at Town Hall. We will have a keynote speaker as well as members of the Chapin faith community participate in prayers and scripture readings.

The following day, April 6, we ask citizens to participate in projects that bring a benefit to our community. We welcome any organization that is interested in hosting a volunteer project to fill out a project registration form and if there are any individuals interested in joining one of our already established projects please contact Nicholle Burroughs at communications@chapinsc.com. Should any organization have volunteers but need assistance in selecting a project, please submit the Project Registration Form with the box “WE NEED A PROJECT” checked.

We will hold an appreciation volunteers breakfast on Saturday, April 6, beginning at 7:30 am at the Community Room at Town Hall. We look forward to having all participants join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of their efforts and say thank you for taking time to make a difference and help others.

“Everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
