Pleasant Hill Middle School evacuated due to small gas leak
LEXINGTON, S.C. — Just before 11 a.m., a Pleasant Hill Middle School teacher thought she smelled gas and immediately notified school administrators.
Administrators quickly used the school’s normal fire drill procedure to evacuate the school and alerted the fire department.
All students and staff were evacuated safely, while the fire service responded.
They did locate a small leak of natural gas coming from a flexible supply line to HVAC unit on the roof. They cut the gas to the unit off while repairs take place.
All students and faculty are back in the building and they are running on a normal schedule.
