Dining on the Dam closes one lane of North Lake today as people enjoy the food & drinks, fellows
Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – The first Dining on the Dam will close the upper lanes of North Lake Drive across the Lake Murray Dam until 8:00 p.m. Sunday night. The event, hosted by the Greater Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center, will connect guests with Lexington County by featuring dishes made with Certified South Carolina Grown dishes and a beautiful view from Lexington’s most recognized landmark. The official event will begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.
According to the organizers, guests will be able to stroll between various food stations that will feature food from local eateries along with wine and beer pairings. They will be spread across the entire span of the dam, and guests will be able to enjoy this as they walk! There will also be a variety of tables throughout the span where guest can gather with friends, eat and enjoy the view.
Law enforcement officers will be in place all day to direct the traffic to the lower lanes of the dam. If you aren’t going to the event wish is sold out, or you don’t have to travel across the dam, it would be best to avoid the area. Guests will be parking at both parks on each side of the dam Sunday evening. They will be carried out to the event via shuttle. This will make it necessary for people who enjoy those SCE&G parks to change their plans just for Sunday. All lanes of the dam will reopen late Sunday after dark.
