Chapin police officers arrest man after wrapping up quick investigation into vehicles and trailer th

Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Chapin Police Department announced Tuesday that they had made an arrest after two vehicles and a trailer were stolen from a business on Columbia Avenue overnight Monday. Officers responded to that scene and after a brief investigation, followed leads which led them to the Circle K at Chapin and Amicks Ferry Roads. There, officers found one of the vehicles located at the gas pumps. Adam Powers, a young white male, was in possession of that vehicle and was quickly taken into custody without incident. As the investigation continued, it was ascertained Powers was also responsible for the theft of the other vehicle and trailer from the Columbia Avenue incident as well.

Powers was charged with Grand Larceny of Motor Vehicle, Grand Larceny, and Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle. Powers was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center where it is believed he faced a bond hearing Tuesday.
