Wreath making class at Lexington County Sheriff’s Department will support Relay For Life

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – When you think of law enforcement officers, rough, tough men and women quickly come to mind. Burly people who work out regularly, wear belts loaded with tools that can drop you in your tracks, and people who can handle themselves in all types of situations. They are also constantly supporting one good cause or another. Whether it be Special Olympic athletes or cancer research, they spend hours answering the call to give of themselves. Now, the staff of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is letting you know that they have a sensitive, creative side too. That’s why you can join them next Tuesday, April 16th for a Wreath Making Class in support of Relay For Life!

This class will allow those who attend an opportunity to make their own Easter or spring wreath that can be displayed on your door, hung anywhere you like, or even given as a gift. The joy of doing something creative and meeting new people might also help you relax and de-stress a bit. Seating is limited and RSVPs are due by tomorrow, Friday the 12th. This will allow the instructors and organizers to get enough materials. For $30, you’ll enjoy making either a spring or Easter wreath to take home. Both the materials and instruction are provided. All proceeds will benefit the Relay For Life program.

To register call or e-mail Karen Taylor 803-785-2505 (ktaylor@lcsd.sc.gov) or Andi Phipps 803-785-2558 (aphipps@lcsd.sc.gov). Go enjoy yourself, meet some great people, and help a really good cause in the process.
