Lexington PD asking for help finding shoplifting brothers identified by public’s tips

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - Lexington, SC (April 18, 2019) – Chief Terrence Green and the men and women of the Lexington Police Department are asking the public to help them find two brothers wanted for shoplifting. Both Joseph Anthony “Tony” Davis, age 55 and his brother, John Allen Davis, age 51, are from the West Columbia area. The brothers were involved in a string of shoplifting incidents at the Walmart on Sunset Boulevard in Lexington.

During a two-week period from April 2nd to April 13th, 2019, the pair entered the Walmart at 5556 Sunset Boulevard on five different occasions planning on shoplifting electronics. Each time they removed smart phones and watches from their security devices, concealed them on themselves, and then left the store without paying for them. Eventually, they stole items that totaled $4895.00.

Detectives were eventually able to identify the two thanks to multiple tips from the public after the media picked the story up. They also received assistance from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

The Lexington Police Department has now issued arrest warrants for Shoplifting, Value over $2,000 but less than $5,000, Shoplifting Value $2,000 or less, and Criminal Conspiracy for each of the brothers.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Joseph Anthony Davis and/or John Allen Davis, are asked to contact Detective Smith at 803-358-7262.
