Deputies investigation Friday night shooting in Red Bank area

Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) – Detectives with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a shooting that happened Friday night in the Garden Pond area of Red Bank. The call regarding the shooting came in just before 10:00 p.m. Deputies,EMS crews, and Lexington County firefighters responded.

According to Captain Adam Myrick of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, a man has been transported from the 2100 block of Old Barnwell Road for treatment of a gunshot wound deputies believe he sustained in the 500 block of Pin Oak Drive. Crime scene investigators were on the scene late Friday processing both locations for potential evidence.Detectives were making an effort to speak with possible witnesses and statements. Investigators said the shooting was not a random act and the involved parties know each other.

The Lexington County EMS transported the man to a local medical center. That ambulance’s crew was supplemented by a supervisor that also rode into the hospital with the original crew.

Captain Myrick said that this is an ongoing investigation. They will try to release more information as it becomes available.
