Are you ready to enjoy a great Staycation?
Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - Tourism is big business in South Carolina and the Columbia region boasts over 14+ million annually. To nurture and continue to grow the region’s tourism efforts, Capital City/Lake Murray Country, a regional tourism destination marketing organization, has executed a new marketing campaign to lure more visitors to continue the growth, while increasing tourism revenues and audiences for the region.
The campaign, called Staycation Week, is scheduled for June 21-30, 2019. The campaign will be marketed to our local communities in the region as well as targeted states including South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. “At numerous regional meetings, our staff realized that many residents are unaware of the numerous tourism attractions, amenities, new products and dining experiences that are offered close to home. So, our tourism office created a Staycation campaign to accomplish three goals,” said Miriam Atria, President/CEO of Capital City/Lake Murray Country, “We want to drive tourism traffic to our region’s hotels during a low traffic week, inform local residents of the amenities in their backyard and lure visitors from neighboring states to the region. We are hoping this campaign opens the door to introduce the region to locals and visitors.”
Staycation Week offers 7 vacation packages that are designed to appeal to a variety of interests. The packages are Family Fun, Outdoor Adventure, Millennials, Lake Enthusiasts, Backroads & BBQ, Civil Rights/History and Special Needs. Packages offer discounted hotel rates, Cool Pass tickets to key attractions and an Attraction Discount Card. All booked packages will be entered to win a 3-day vacation back to the region, plus $500 in cash.
Two dedicated URL’s are linked to LakeMurrayCountry.com and will serve as the information and booking engine for the campaign. They are StaycationWeekColumbiaSC.com and StaycationWeekLakeMurraySC.com. An aggressive marketing plan for the campaign has been planned including TV commercials, radio, print ads, billboards, direct mail, geo-targeting, web banner ads and social media.
