Chapin Police Department turning to the public in theft investigation

Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Chapin Police Department is turning to the public for help in hopes someone can identify a suspect in a theft investigation. The man acts as if no one is watching when he quickly slips something that doesn’t belong to him off a table in a business. He then exits rapidly, but the cameras saw it all.

The man appears to be in his mid to late 20’s or earlier 30’s. Of course, he could be any age so don’t discount anyone if you think you know who it is. He has facial hair, long sideburns, and is wearing all white clothes and a cap. He’s drinking a beer in one hand while he makes the grab with his other.

The police ask that you look at this video closely. If you have any idea who this man is, please call First Sergeant Frick at 803-575-8049. Your help would certainly be appreciated.
