Cayce DPS announces Girls on the Run Columbia 5K road closures for Saturday

Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Girls on the Run Columbia is coming to the City of Cayce this weekend. They will be holding a 5K Road Race as a culmination of some coaches’ training they were doing.

Girls on the Run of Columbia is an independent council of Girls on the Run International. They have a network of over 200 councils across 50 states and the District of Columbia. GOTR-Columbia was founded in 2004 through an affiliate partnership with the University of South Carolina and received 501(c)3 nonprofit status in 2008. The council has served more than 9,000 girls in Kershaw, Lexington, Richland and Sumter counties.They inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident.

There are some road closures due to the race that may affect you. Starting at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning (05/04/2019) and continuing until 10:00 a.m. The Cayce Department of Public Safety ask that you please review the course map attached below and plan accordingly. They say that multiple lanes will be closed on Charleston Hwy in front of the Historic Columbia Speedway.
