Lexington Three school raise more than $10K for Relay for Life

Batesburg-Leesville, SC - Lexington County School District Three is proud to announce that its four schools collectively fund-raised more than $10,000 for Relay for Life this spring. The Relay for Life event was held in conjunction with Saluda on Friday, April 26th at Leesville College Park.

Each school’s fundraising activities were led by a Relay for Life team captain. Lexington Three appreciates the following individuals for leading their school’s efforts: Dee Stewart (B-L Primary School), Marriet Tollison (B-L Elementary School), Missy O’Dell (B-L Middle School), and School Resource Officer Debra Miller (B-L High School). Lexington Three’s Relay for Life team captains worked with staff members and administrators at each school to coordinate a variety of fundraising activities to include popcorn sales, a corn hole tournament, special t-shirt sales, a kickball tournament, jeans days for teachers, and Panther decal sales.

All of the proceeds from the funds raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society to help thousands of people across the globe with breakthrough research, patient care programs, and education and prevention initiatives. Lexington Three extends its gratitude to all of the staff, students and community members who supported this year’s Relay for Life efforts.

First grade students enjoyed a dance party complete with snacks and face painting booths on Friday, April 26th. The dance party was one of many Relay for Life fundraising events held across Lexington County School District Three.
