Promotion ceremony held for two at Lexington Police Department
Lexington, SC - On Monday, April 29, 2019, Chief Terrence Green of the Lexington Police Department held a promotion ceremony. At the ceremony, he promoted PFC. Daniel Smith to the rank of Detective within the Criminal Investigations Division and Detective Zack Truel to the rank of Corporal within the Patrol Division.
Detective Daniel Smith joined the Lexington Police Department in March of 2012. He worked assignments in the Patrol Division and the Special Operations Division before joining the Criminal Investigations Division in March. Detective Smith is a member of the Lexington Police Department Crisis Negotiations Team, Alcohol Enforcement Team, Mobile Field Force, a police radio programmer, and a member of the LPD Recruitment Team.
Corporal Zack Truel joined the Lexington Police Department in March of 2012. He worked assignments in the Patrol Division, Special Operations Division and the Criminal Investigations Division before returning to the Patrol Division as a supervisor last month. Corporal Truel is the Assistant Team Leader of the Emergency Services Team, an Honor Guard member, on the Alcohol Enforcement Team, and a member of the LPD Recruitment Team.
Both Detective Daniel Smith and Corporal Zack Truel began their careers in public safety with the Lexington County 9-1-1 Center. There they worked as dispatchers for several years before becoming police officers. Congratulations to Detective Daniel Smith and to Corporal Zack Truel on these well deserved promotions.
