Lexington PD host Coffee With a Cop Tuesday

Lexington, SC (May 3, 2019) – Chief Terrence Green would like to invite the Town of Lexington community for a cup of coffee and conversation at the quarterly Coffee with a Cop event which will be at The Haven, which is located at 121 East Main Street in Lexington on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.

Beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 9:30 a.m., Chief Terrence Green, along with officers from each division, Chaplains and Volunteers In Police Services (V.I.P.S.) members will be on hand to answer questions, discuss issues or concerns, provide information on the many services and events that the Lexington Police Department offers the Town of Lexington community and enjoy a cup of coffee together.

A focus for Coffee with a Cop events this year will be to highlight and have in attendance a community partner who works closely with the Lexington Police Department. Lighthouse for Life will be attending this event and will have representatives to speak about the important work that their staff does within the community to bring awareness to the realities of sexual trafficking along with restoring the lives of those who have been rescued from trafficking. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 is also Midlands Gives Giving Day and Lighthouse for Life will have a Giving Station at The Haven from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Come to Coffee with a Cop and plan on making an in person donation to help them reach their goal of raising over $30,000, which will greatly assist their work with victims of sexual trafficking.

Coffee with a Cop is a nationally recognized program with over 2000 participating communities to establish better communication between police officers and the public, establish trust and transparency and to build positive relationships in an informal setting.
