Springdale preparing for second annual Daddy & Me 5-K and Dadlympics

Springdale, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Town of Springdale is inviting the community to join them for their second annual Daddy & Me 5K. It will begin in the Felton C. Benton Park next to Town Hall on Platt Springs Road. This event’s purpose is to spread a very simple message, “Dads Matter!” According to the town, you don’t have to be a dad to participate. You can be a mom, a dad, an uncle, an aunt, a child, a grandparent, a sister, a brother, or anyone who is a part of a child’s life that cares; Really ANYONE!

If you aren’t ready to participate in the run, you may want to sign up to participate in the Dadlympics. If none of this is your bag, they invite you to just bring a folding chair, find a comfortable spot, and watch all the fun. Just please be there to show your support. During the event, you can listen to DJ Smooth spin some tunes, play in the splash pad, but most importantly spread the message that Dads have an important role and they can have significant impacts in their children’s lives.

Iron Sharpens Iron is a presenting sponsor of this event. If you’d like to help by sponsoring something or just need more information, call the Springdale Town Hall at 803-794-0408.
