Lexington County firefighters battle another structure in the same neighborhood as Tuesday morning’s

Oak Grove, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County firefighters were working late into the night again fighting a structure fire that was well involved when they arrived. The fire, reported around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night, was in the 100 block of Chisholm Circle. This is just around the corner from the house fire they fought early Tuesday morning.

The two-story residential structure was engulfed in heavy smoke and flames when they arrived. Firefighters started with an exterior fire attack until a water supply was established and the flames were knocked down. At this point, they were able to enter the home to push the fire out from its base.

Lexington County EMS crews were on the scene helping rehab the firefighters. There were no injuries reported as of midnight. The two residents of the home were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross can provide emergency assistance to them if necessary. The house was destroyed by the fire.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
