Suspect in domestic violence case turns himself in

Lexington, SC – Late Friday night, Jamal Davis turned himself in at the Lexington Police Department and was served with arrest warrants the department had obtained for him in a case of extreme domestic violence. The incident occurred on May 26, 2019.

According to police, at approximately 11:30 p.m. last Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of East Main Street for a domestic violence incident. They met with a female victim who said he estranged husband used force to break into her apartment by kicking the door in. Once inside, the man identified as Jamal Davis punched her in the face and knocked her mobile phone from her hands to prevent her from calling the police. She ran from the apartment in an attempt to seek help, but Davis followed her and began punching her in the head and face again. He then fled from scene in a dark green sedan. The woman was transported to the hospital and treated for injuries sustained in the attack.

Jamal David is currently at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting Bond Court.
