Batesburg-Leesville, SC - The third annual Lexington County School District Three Tech Up Celebration was held on Wednesday, May 22nd at Wiz’s Eatery. The event honored staff members who had worked to earn Tech Up Digital Badges throughout the academic year.
Attendees enjoyed a delicious meal, short program and gifts from business/community sponsors including Allstate Insurance Agency (Brittney Herlong), Amber Bouknight, Angelo’s of Batesburg, Derrick Plumbing, Andrea Derrick, Ashley Fort, Kay Jewelers, the Lexington Three Instructional Technology Team, and Wiz’s Eatery. A special thanks goes to Judy Fox and Blair Taylor for donating a cake for the celebration.
The Lex3 Tech Up Challenge is a badging system designed to recognize teachers and administrators in the district for their work with technology integration in the classroom. While many of the teachers and administrators are excelling in the instructional use of technology as a vehicle for learning, participation in the Tech Up Challenge is voluntary. Applying for badges requires teachers to share and reflect on their practice through a Google Form questionnaire and/or through various communication platforms with their peers. Badges are designed around sound instructional practices in the classroom and are not tool specific.
The top badge earners at each school (Veronica Brandau (BLPS), Megan Schulte (BLPS), Lynn Paxton (BLES), Kimberly Lawson (BLMS), Courtney Richardson (BLMS), and William Ash (BLHS) were also treated to a one year subscription to the digital tool of their choice by the Lexington Three Technology Department.
Congrats to all of the Tech Up participants!
