Lexington County Sheriff’s Department in the early stages of suspected drive-by shooting in Red Bank

Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is in the early stages of suspected drive-by shooting in Red Bank. This happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning in the 100 block of Vonda Drive.

According to the person who was living in the home, his family was asleep when he heard popping noises from outside and something hitting the home. He immediately instructed his girlfriend and two children to take cover on the floor. Luckily, no one was hit. Their home and their car were both hit.

The sheriff’s department is now on the scene, just beginning their investigation. Crime scene technicians are also arriving. The public is asked to avoid the area until investigators can secure the crime scene and collect whatever evidence is there. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
