West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) – Detectives with the West Columbia Police Department are in the early stages of an investigation into two armed robberies which occurred early Monday. They were both at convenience stores and gas stations on Sunset Boulevard, one of the town’s main roads.
Officers say the Scotchman at 2990 Sunset Blvd. was held up by a black male with a silver handgun. It is believed he then hit the Circle K at 1190 Sunset Blvd., according to police officers. These stores are just 2.5 miles apart. They say that the man is 5’ 6” to 6’ tall and is wearing a gray hoodie, a ski mask, regular blue jeans, and dark, possibly black, tennis shoes.
No one was injured in either robbery. Police are reviewing surveillance video and collecting evidence. It may be some time before they have any more information to release.
