The Lexington County Blowfish taking veterans out to the ballpark again this year
Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – As they’ve done in the past, the Lexington County Blowfish are taking all military veterans out for a free ballgame and meal around the 4th of July as their way of saying, “Thanks for your service.” According to the County of Lexington’s social media pages, this is the third year that the Blowfish have held their annual Veterans’ Recognition Night.
According to the Blowfish, for each veteran who RSVPs, they will be allowed to bring a guest. They will receive a complimentary reserved seat admission to the Blowfish game against the Macon Bacon on Friday, July 5th, at the Lexington County Baseball Park. The game begins at 6:20 p.m.Additionally, registered veterans will receive a complimentary "ballpark" dinner with hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, drinks and more.
Throughout the night, veterans will be invited to the private, air-conditioned clubhouse banquet room. They will also have an opportunity to participate in a pregame ceremony of recognition for their service to America. This will include a presentation of colors by a military color guard with the pledge of allegiance. Everyone will also sing the national anthem, someone will play Taps and the inspirational “Fallen Comrade” ceremony will take place.
Veterans may RSVP to reserve their two complimentary admission tickets for the event by contacting Kyle Calhoun at the Lexington County Blowfish Office. They just call (803) 254-3474 or email him at kyle@blowfishbaseball.com.
