Sheriff’s deputies need help finding man whose crimes could be electrifying

Edmund, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department needs the community’s help to locate a man who took some big risk to steal some copper wiring from a utility company’s electric substation. According to deputies, the man cut through the fence of the facility on Landfill Lane in Edmund and actually took copper wiring from some equipment there. This is not only wrong, it’s very dangerous to even be inside the gate no matter whether you are dealing with the energized equipment or just stored items.

Investigators ask that you take a good look at the man’s pictures. His face can be very clearly seen. If you know who this wanna-be electrician is, please notify the deputies by calling CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-888-CRIME SC. You can also make tips through a tab on their website at midlandscrimestoppers.com. You do not have to reveal your identity to make a tip and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
