UPDATE: Airport Blvd. reopened after LPG truck and tractor trailer truck collide Monday morning in C

Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – UPDATE: According to the Cayce Department of Public Safety, Airport Boulevard has reopened completely from Boston Avenue to Interstate 26.

Earlier in the day, a pressurized truck like the type that carries Liquid Propane Gas and a box style tractor trailer have collided near the Waffle House on Airport Boulevard. This is between the I-26 exit ramp and Boston Avenue going west toward South Congaree.

The Cayce Department of Public Safety tweeted at 9:59 a.m. that they had closed Airport Boulevard because of the crash. The exit ramp lanes that would funnel motorist west off I-26 has also been closed. They did not say if the truck was full or that any LP gas was leaking from the truck and photographs from the scene did not show a gas cloud. In cases like this, another truck is often brought in and the gas is transferred as a precautionary measure.
