West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) – A man stole a car Saturday morning after he and the victim met for an encounter on Laurel Crest Dr. near West Columbia. According to Captain Adam Myrick, spokesman for the sheriff’s department, one of the men then presented a handgun and a screwdriver, tied up the other man, and stole the victim’s car.
The West Columbia Police Department responded but realized that the incident was actually in Lexington County. They have turned the case over to the county and their investigators are continuing to work the case.
Detectives are currently looking for a light skinned black male that has dreadlocks and is wearing some camouflage clothing. They believe he is armed and dangerous and is driving the victim’s car. The description of that has not been released.
