Pineview Dixie Youth Minors win South Carolina title, now headed to World Series!

West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Pineview Dixie Youth Baseball Minors team of West Columbia won the B tournament last Thursday evening. The game was played in Anderson, SC. This win moves the team on to the World Series Tournament in Ruston, LA. There, they will go on to represent the state of South Carolina from August 2, 2019 thru August 8, 2019.

These boys are the first Minors AAA team to go to the Dixie Youth World Series according to Chanea Washington, a proud affiliate of the team. They represent the state and Lexington County. Pineview’s home ballpark is off Methodist Park Road.

According to Katy Butts, parents and supporters of the team are having a welcome home celebration for them on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at their home field in West Columbia. Everyone is encouraged to come and welcome the victors home.

Lexington County has a proud history representing South Carolina in Dixie Youth Baseball World Series. Although many teams from across the county compete, many of our teams have brought the program’s biggest honor back to our county. If the Pineview boys win, they will be the first ever in their age group to do so. In the past, the boys on the winning team have each gotten a World Series ring. They also win a huge trophy and a World Series banner among other things.
