South Congaree, SC - (Paul Kirby) – The Town of South Congaree has selected their first Royal Court for the South Congaree Rodeo and Creekside Jamboree. This was a pageant where all contestants submitted photos to be judged rather than appear in person. Most were judged in their everyday clothes, so they looked very natural to adhere to the western rodeo theme.
There were four categories in this contest. They were: South Congaree Rodeo Wee Princess & Prince, Toddler Princess & Prince, Little Miss & Little Master, and Rodeo Princess & Prince.
In the category of Wee Princess, Miss Kennedy Oswald, daughter of Ashley Oswald of Lexington won the crown. Young Master Brody Brazell, the son of Cameron & Kimber Brazell of West Columbia, was selected as the winner.
Miss Emmy Gillis, daughter of Anna Gillis of Lexington, was crowned as the Toddler Princess. The Toddler Prince title was taken by Master Gabriel Cole, son of Christie Cole of West Columbia.
The title of Little Miss Rodeo was won by Miss Myah Shumpert, the daughter of Cheyenne Shumpert of West Columbia. Master Mason Colley, son of Mechelle Nuove of West Columbia, was named Little Master Rodeo.
Miss Payton Kirby, daughter of Abby Kirby of Pelion, was named the 2019 Rodeo Princess. Master Kenneth Edmonds, son of Angelia Edmonds of West Columbia, was named the 2019 Rodeo Prince.
All of the winners will receive a crown and several other prizes. Congratulations to all the winners. They will be in a grand parade in the arena prior to the rodeo Friday night.
