Retired guardsman and local business owner announces run for county council

Lexington, SC - Brian Duncan, a lifelong resident of Lexington County, retired SC Air National Guardsman, and owner of Security Pro, announced Friday that he will be running for Lexington County Council District 5 in the 2020 Republican Primary.

“My career started with serving others in the National Guard and I want to carry that same service to Lexington County Council.” Duncan said, “The people sent a loud message four years ago when I nearly defeated the longtime incumbent, they, the people of Lexington County, want new leadership.”

In the 2016 Republican primary Duncan won nine out of the district’s 15 precincts, just less than two percent of the votes behind the incumbent, Bobby Keisler.

“District five is one of the fastest growing areas in our county, which means it is crucial that we have positive, new leadership that will represent all those who choose to call our great community home!”

The primary will be in June of 2020 and the general election will be in November of next year.
