Boiling Springs, SC (Paul Kirby) – A vehicle ran off the road and ended up partially submerged in a pond just before noon Wednesday. The accident happened in the 6500 block of Platt Springs Road near McCartha Road. This is an area of Platt Springs Road that has ponds on both sides of it. These come right up to the road in several places.
Resources responded from Lexington County’s EMS, the fire service, and the sheriff’s department. According to the county’s dispatch center, the lone occupant of the car eventually self-extricated and got to the bank. It didn’t appear as if that person sustained any serious injury in the crash.
The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck. A recovery service was notified and responded with a wrecker to remove the vehicle from the water.
