Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) - At Tuesday’s County Council meeting, several Lexington County organizations were honored for their achievements and for reaching several milestones.
First, Council Chairmen Scott Whetstone presented a resolution commending the 100th anniversary of the American Legion to Post #7 in Lexington. They have served as a community-oriented organization for decades. The post is comprised of veterans who have served in the military beginning in World War I. The council honored the post for their many years of service working to better themselves, the community, and their fellow veterans.
Additionally, a resolution was passed and presented by Councilman Hudson to the Lexington High School Women’s Golf team. The Lexington High School Women’s Softball team was also honored. Both teams won State Championship titles last spring. Their efforts have made our community proud. These strong young women persevered and worked hard to earn the top spot in their respective sports!
The Lexington County Council honors organizations and people who impact our community in positive ways with proclamations. These are drafted and presented on behalf of the people of Lexington County. As a county, residents have a lot to be thankful for. These organizations are an example of just how much the people of this county must be proud of!
