Swim advisory issued on Lower Saluda

Lexington, SC - Five of the Midlands Rivers Coalition water quality samples collected on Wednesday, August 28 came back above the standard for swimming. A swimming advisory is being issued for the Lower Saluda River from the Lower Landing at Saluda Shoals Park to the Confluence. Follow-up sampling is being conducted Thursday, August 29, and those results will be reported tomorrow afternoon.

Contact recreation such as swimming, wading, tubing, paddling is not recommended in the advisory area. At risk groups, including children, people with compromised immune systems, and people with open wounds. They should use extreme caution and avoid contact with the river's water.
