West Columbia, SC (Paul Kirby) – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the person who was killed after being struck by a vehicle at approximately 2:40 a.m. Saturday morning. According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Robbie Lee Grimsley, 60, of West Columbia was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained.
Fisher said that Grimsley was walking across the road in the 1900 block of Platt Springs Road when he was struck. The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, stopped to render aid.
The West Columbia Police Department is investigating.
